The greatest advantage of Saddle Hunting is the ability to use the tree as a shield from the deer you are hunting.

The big Saddle companies took that advantage away from you when they began selling the big money, and small advantage platforms which leaves you stuck in one spot on a tiny platform.

If one of the most accomplished and successful Saddle Hunting Deer Hunters of All Time (John Eberhart) still uses a Ring of Steps instead of the newly marketed platforms, what is that saying?

Our Ring of Steps is lighter, smaller, easier to pack, and gives you so many more options on how to set up and place your feet than the new platforms.

If you are worried about them being comfortable, our Platform Steps Patent Pending features are specifically designed to be comfortable as a Saddle Hunting Ring of Steps. If you are concerned check out the reviews.

Many guys use our Platform Ring of Steps for 12 hour sits!

The Platform Step has angles that are similar to the angles your feet will contact the steps as you lean. No other steps have this feature.

If you are wondering how you would carry them, you can add on the brown dump to have an ideal way to carry and assist in attaching your Ring of Steps. You can also keep your tether under your ring of steps in the bottom of the pouch and right there where and when you need it!

We guarantee you will be a more effective saddle hunter and enjoy all of the possibilities that originally came with the hunting saddle, or we will gladly give you your money back!

Just try them and you’ll see.

Lightweight, durable , quick to set , and sturdy. I use these as mobile hang and hunt style , and I leave some as pre sets in specific sets of woods. Great product that truly does get rid of weak side shots.

Jury's still out

I decided to switch from a platform to ROS after a few years of using an XOP Edge platform, which was heavy and uncomfortable on my feet. I watched some John Eberhart videos that explained how ROS is better than a platform, and decided Bullman's ROS looked like the best option. After one season of use, I'm undecided on whether I'll keep them. They are lighter than a lot of platforms . When I add up the weight of 6 steps plus ratchet, strap and carrying bag it's 2.75 lbs. That's much lighter than my XOP Edge, which weighed about 6 lbs, but some newer platforms are comparable. For example the Hunt Arsenal RZR Sub 2 weighs 2 lbs without attachments.
As expected, the ratchet strap is more difficult, noisy, and time consuming to connect & disconnect compared to a cam strap, and has led to some frustrating moments. The steps can also be cumbersome due to the fact they slide independently of each other on the strap. This can lead to the steps contacting each other or other things and making noise. I've also had a hard time getting the strap secured tightly enough that my steps don't shift. Hopefully I can correct these issues with more practice using the steps.
My biggest complaint is that so far I haven't found the steps to be any more comfortable than a platform. I thought the beveled edges would make them more comfortable than a platform, but I have still found myself wanting to change position every few minutes. I also have not noticed any improvement in my range of shooting positions yet. These are supposed to allow you to swing around a tree but I'm still very limited by my tether rope, which is set to the suggested length per instructional videos that I have watched.
Lastly the shipping time and response time from Bullman left a lot to be desired. For some reason the website does not show a record of my order, so I can't pinpoint the exact order date but they took a long time to ship. I emailed customer service to ask when they would ship and got no response. A few days later I finally got a shipping confirmation email. There's room for improvement on the customer experience for sure.

The Platform Ring of Steps

After being picked off by a few too many deer using a platform, I just changed my saddle program to the ring of steps. I very much like being able to put the tree between me and the approaching deer, nomatter which direction it is coming from as well as being able to rest my feet on the steps and straddle the tree without having to rest my knees against the tree. Shooting around the tree is so much easier from both strong and weak sides. I'm already shooting from the steps so everything is automatic by October.
I bought a multi - pack of 8 steps and the ratchet strap. Don't need all 8 every sit/tree, but they are available when needed. The ring of steps is easy to attach quietly compared to the platform as well as easier to pack in.

The Platform Ring of Steps

Light and easy. Simple set up. Only downside for me is the steps themselves. Foot side of the step needs some kind of texture to grab the bottom of your shoes. A bit slippery. If an updated version comes out please email me so I can order. Over all I really like them over the platform.
