The Platform Ring of Steps

After being picked off by a few too many deer using a platform, I just changed my saddle program to the ring of steps. I very much like being able to put the tree between me and the approaching deer, nomatter which direction it is coming from as well as being able to rest my feet on the steps and straddle the tree without having to rest my knees against the tree. Shooting around the tree is so much easier from both strong and weak sides. I'm already shooting from the steps so everything is automatic by October.
I bought a multi - pack of 8 steps and the ratchet strap. Don't need all 8 every sit/tree, but they are available when needed. The ring of steps is easy to attach quietly compared to the platform as well as easier to pack in.

So far I've been able to use the ROS on 3 different trees. I find that the larger trees work best for me. I'm using them to compliment my Out On A Limb Slick Rick. The strap takes a little getting used to, but once it's ratcheted down, the steps are glued to the tree and give me more options to take an animal vs having just a platform. If you're on the fence or thinking of some cheap knock-off, don't make the mistake of passing these up. Just get them. You won't regret it.

This climbing package is great the. Platform ROS is as solid a platform as I have ever used. So great for a big guy. 360 degree accessibility for any tree. The steps are great as well. I am still figuring out or getting comfortable with the steps. But they get the job done and you will not get anything lighter. I use the JX3 versatile saddle and adding this product to my system has been a game changer.

New to the Saddle world and very afraid of heights I have to say that these steps to me and for my needs are incredible. Very secure once set. I am able to get almost all the way around the tree within reason. Both strong side and weak. Of course you're limited by the length of you tether. Steps and strap are incredibly well made. It takes me awhile to trust new gear but this product put my mind at ease. I don't use a platform and I wanted to keep weight down. So this was a no brainer. Thank you Bullman Outdoors for the fast shipping as well and an outstanding product. I use these with my Dryad Full Hammock. I can spend an entire day just a swingin in the trees, comfortably.

Got these yesterday and got to use them today. I’m a public land hunter and I use the JX3 hybrid saddle and Wild Edge steps.

My last ring of steps was something I got off of Amazon. They were AL and only had a cam strap. They were noisy and you could only get the cam straps so tight.

These are plastic and are super quiet. The ratchet strap really allows you to crank them tight.

You could do jumping jacks on these things and they aren’t going to shift.

You can also put full side pressure and again, they aren’t going to shift.

Since I’m in a hybrid saddle…only time I on my feet is moving around the tree or relieving myself I can’t tell you about foot comfort of an all day hang. The foot pegs are sizeable and hooked into the heel of my boot and I felt like my feet had plenty of support.

Awesome tool for climbing trees and going lighter and lighter. weight is crucial. too much weight walking in and you sweat more. that means human odor. These steps with the right configuration can get you 20 feet high to your platform height in under 4lbs if you use them with aiders.

Absolutely a necessary hunting tool!!! I'm a saddle hunter obsessed with efficiency and reducing weight. Less work, less sweat, less human odor and more quality deer sightings is what it's all about. I use a 2 step ring o steps at the bottom, with 3 step aider, and a 1 pound clinbing stick with aider next and then a 4 step Bullman ring of steps at the top with an aider. This gets me 20 ft in a tree in under 4lbs. The steps and straps fit perfectly in a nylon large dump pouch attached to my molle belt on my saddle. It's perfect!

Ordered the ring of steps and they felt way better than the cheaper set I was using. Had the strap start to rip and emailed bullman and they immediately sent me new strap. Highly recommend

I will admit, at first, I wasn't sold. The more I use them the better they get. I thought the steps were too short. They aren't. I thought they were too loud. With practice they are quieter than the platform. The biggest draw back is that it is almost too easy to move around the tree. I find myself doing it to alleviate boredom. Great product. Well designed and constructed.

I was hesitant to try this out. After having shot from this and other main stream type platforms isn't not even a comparison. These steps are more sturdy, provide a better base to shoot from and allow for more (and easier) movement around the tree. Awesome product.

These are the best ring of steps product on the market. Unmatched durability vs weight, matched with a cam strap they are rock solid! I have 2 sets a ring of 4 for smaller trees or with a platform. Also one 7 step ring set for larger trees. They may be a bit slippery in wet conditions with out the right boots. But until I get to try them in those conditions they get a solid 5 ⭐️ review from me.
